In order to help your dog understand you, be conscious of your tone of voice. According to expert trainer Mike Wombacher from Dog Gone Good! Dog Training, there are three tones with which your pup will readily identify. To dogs, a high-pitched tone of voice is interpreted as an invitation to play. An ordinary tone is considered instructional and a low-pitched tone, a reprimand. Keeping these simple rules in mind and adjusting the tone of your voice accordingly will do wonders to facilitate meaningful communication between you and your pup.
