Let’s face it, some dogs just want to pull on the leash, regardless of how they’re trained or if they know you dislike it. Whether it can be attributed to excitement, lack of exercise, or a hyperactive breed, some dogs refuse to behave. Under these circumstances, while it might not be possible to dissuade the dog from pulling, it is possible to make it easier on your limbs by getting them a harness. Dog harnesses wrap around the dog, and pulling back on the harness will cause the animal to slow down through the natural effect of the harness limiting their motion. Choosing the right harness is easy, as you can find a small dog harness for dachshunds, pugs, and Pomeranians, or larger harnesses for medium, large, and Great Dane size dogs. You’ll be amazed at how much less strain is put on your arms with a dog harness!
You want your dog’s harness to fit snugly around their bodies; having a harness that’s too tight or too loose can cause the animal discomfort and won’t work as well. Most harnesses are adjustable, so just make sure it fits!
