Now I don’t know about ya’ll, but in my house, my dog Shakira is a doggy duchess.  I love dressing up Shakira in the latest dog fashion, and buying her fancy dog collars.  When my friends come to visit, they always comment on how cute Shakira is in her pink jacket with her fancy dog collar studded with rhinestones.  I also love taking Shakira to the park, she might be a lady at home, but she also loves to chase balls, pinecones, and Frisbees! 

The duchess always makes her presence known when people come over to the house.  While I think most dogs bark because they’re scared or protecting their territory, Shakira barks so that people will pay attention to her.  It’s so funny that she waits at the top of the stairs and barks until people bend down to pet her, just like a real duchess, she always wants to be the center of attention!

Yo Yo what’s up my people!  This is your kid Fraky Fresh again, and today I’ve got a tale for you straight from the streets.  Now you all know my pitbull Shakur, he’s out there grinding day in day out, keeping it fly, telling other dogs to lay down; that’s how he do!  Shakur is known around my hood for his assortment of designer dog collars; word on the streets is he’s never worn the same one twice.  While this isn’t true, Shakur does like to have his options, whether it’s diamond studded, gold plated, or dangling a medallion the size of a midget, Shakur’s dog collar is always turning heads around the hood. 

Shakur likes to mix it up when it comes to buying new dog collars, sometimes he shops online, sometimes in stores, or he’s even been known to get all up in a player hater’s face and take his dog collar from him.  That Shakur is noble though, it’s not about the bling to him, it’s about the respect.  He’ll give back another dog’s collar in private, but to all the other canines it looks like he straight took it and told that other dog to lay down before they got busted.

Just because I can’t afford the extravagant designer clothing, shoes, and accessories often sported by celebrities doesn’t mean that I can’t deck out my dog in the finery reserved for the social elite. And now my puppy will enjoy the same accessories donned by those spoiled spaniels.

In fact, I just purchased a set of jeweled dog collars for my dog. I got a variety of colors because I knew my dog would want to sport a little variety in his closet. I can even coordinate his collar with my outfit, so we can both be stylish together. And even though the collars aren’t genuine Chanel or encrusted with diamonds, they look just as good. Plus, I don’t have to worry about breaking my bank if they are lost or damaged at the park or wherever we might venture together.

Some dogs just have a personality that is all about the sparkle.  All they are missing to go with that cute, sassy walk and talk is a fashion dog collar, dog dress, or dog T-shirt that shines as brightly as they do.  I’d say it was a girl thing, but some boy dogs definitely fit this description!
