Well today we will celebrate. Our babies are 7 years old today. I will remember the delivery day and how exciting that was.Kimi the mom was a young mother and tiny so she had a bit of trouble delivering. In the end I helped and opened the sacks and tied off the cord. Wow what a day. I even took a maternity leave to be with the babies and mom.Today they are all doing great and are just beautiful. We kept the family together and have two other females. MY SIX PACK
With My Six Pack in the house this is always something I try and stay on top of.
Flea season will soon be upon us. Flea prevention does not require the use of harmful chemicals. Available in health food stores, citrus peel extract-based solutions can be used to wash floors and clean bedding of fleas. Cut orange chunks can be boiled in water to create a topical solution. Be sure to let the liquid cool and then pour it over your dog’s fur taking care to rub it into the skin. Diatomaceous earth is a dry powder that can occasionally be applied directly to your pet’s fur. This natural, organic product dehydrates fleas and helps rid your pet of these pests. This powder can also be applied in small quantities to dog food to help prevent fleas. Regular bathing with a mild, natural soap can also be very effective part of a chemical-free flea prevention program.by The team at Fido Dog Treats
In order to help your dog understand you, be conscious of your tone of voice. According to expert trainer Mike Wombacher from Dog Gone Good! Dog Training, there are three tones with which your pup will readily identify. To dogs, a high-pitched tone of voice is interpreted as an invitation to play. An ordinary tone is considered instructional and a low-pitched tone, a reprimand. Keeping these simple rules in mind and adjusting the tone of your voice accordingly will do wonders to facilitate meaningful communication between you and your pup. I always like to report good information. It is the little things that you do with your pets that make the difference.
During walks, a dog can easily become distracted by the interesting smells, sights, and sounds in the environment. Carrying treats on walks can help you regain your dog’s attention and keep him on track. You never know who and what you run into when out and about. If your dog loves his or her treats take them along.
Just as jingling your keys tells your dog that you’re leaving, you can choose a cue to say you’ll be back soon.
When you leave the house for short durations, such as to take out the garbage or get the mail, say “Be right back!” to your dog. Eventually, he or she will associate this phrase with a short absence. This can help soothe dogs who don’t like to be left alone. Other cues, such as turning on the radio or jingling a bell, will work too. Just be consistent with the cue and only use it during short absences.

Are you walking your dog or practicing for water skiing? Being pulled by your dog is no fun. One reason for pulling is holding the leash too tightly. Dogs have opposition reflex. You pull on them, they pull back. Like any other reflex, it’s automatic.Keep your hands low, down by your waist, and make sure you are not triggering the pulling by tugging and tightening on the leash unnecessarily.Using a harness also helps because they do not feel like they are being stangeled.
What’s the difference between a “bribe” and a reward? A bribe is something your dogs sees before she does what you ask. A reward is something she sees (and receives) afterward. If you are asking your dog to do something with a treat in your hand (or your hand already reaching for your pouch) you may be bribing your dog. Keep your treats out of sight until after you get the behavior you are asking for.
When walking your dog, you must remain in the leadership position, which means walking in front of your dog, or having him next to you. But, never let the dog be in front – that’s him leading you. Walk in and out of the house first while your dog remains behind or next to you. Step off and onto the curb before your dog. Show him that you are there to provide protection and direction. Also, make sure to use a short leash so you can maintain control in any situation.Part of my Pack. Good eye contact is also important. Make sure they know you are the Pack Leader
Fall is a great time for dogs and their owners. These safety tips will help make it enjoyable for all!1. Don’t underestimate how cold it can be early in the day; some shorthaired breeds may need a sweater.2. Reassess your dog’s diet. Working dogs or those that spend a lot of time outdoors may need additional calories to generate body heat.3. Keep your dog away from those newly purchased school supplies. Glue or crayons can cause harm if consumed.4. Watch out for mushrooms as fall is their peak season. Toxic fungi can be harmful or even fatal.5. Be cautious in areas where hunters may lurk. Both you and your dog should be wearing right colors.
